Red Billed Toucans
by Keith Micallef
The toucans represent one of the best known and most spectacular species of birds. They live in Central and South America. They eat live foods like mealworms and dead day-old mice. They fly to the warmest areas of the world. They are 8.5 cm long. Toucans lay their eggs in holes in trees. They have 2 to 3 eggs and their incubation period is that of 20 days. The red billed toucans are a mixture of colours that is black, blue, yellow and orange. I have seen one when I went to America and I was impressed by it.
